Communication Strategy:

Objective:
- create a Facebook group asking Facebook to be more private, and have more than 5,000 users join by April 1st 2010
- do a survey of 100 people asking them questions related to Facebook and privacy

Goal:
- to engage a significantly large audience in hopes of informing them to be mindful of their privacy
- hope to instill awareness in the minds of our audience on what they are posting

Audience:
- our focus is on Facebook users between the ages of 13-24, because Facebook states you have to be at least 13 years of age to create an account
- reaches students in high school and university/introduction to workplace

Key Messages:
- Facebook and other social networking websites allow its users to connect with friends, family and even other people who the user may not know
- Facebook allows anyone to view personal information about anyone

Strategy:
- verbally and visually present information that will persuade our audience to take action and join the group

Tactics:
- plan to reach out to our audience through various awareness posters and oral presentations to present the users with facts about the privacy issues that Facebook ignores
- allow the audience to give feedback in relation to their own actual cases regarding the infringement on their privacy

Measurement:
- see how many people joined the group
- read comments written
- why some people did not join?
